Shortage of luck

Dynamo Moscow lost to SKA in last matchup of regular season

It was our fourth and last battle against SKA in this regular season. Unfortunately, in previous games we did not have enough luck to beat them. The game starting with celebration of heroes of last World Juniors, a big group of SKA players and our forward Ilya Kruglov who did not travel to this trip got an ovation.

From the first seconds of the game SKA got a possession and started to create dangerous opportunities in front of Ivan Bocharov’s net. Our first shot on their net was quite crucial. Maxim Afinogenov used a breakaway opportunity to open the scoreboard. He became the oldest player to ever score for Dynamo in the history of the club.

In the end of the first Sergei Plotnikov got game misconduct penalty. 5-minute powerplay could help us to end the game. However, our defenseman Juuso Hietanen made the lines equal for two minutes. Unfortunately, our team was not able to transform this opportunity into serious lead. On 49th minute Igor Ozhiganov was first on the rebound after his own shot to make it 1-1. The game to overtime where defenseman Artyom Zub helped SKA to returned to the 2nd place of the West.

The next game our team will play in Nizhny Novgorod on January 16.
