Blue-Whites take a 3-2 lead in the series
For the fifth game in the series both coaches decided not to make any changes in their lineup. After four games the series started from the beginning but the winner would be decided in best-of-three series.
Spartak played more aggressively in first period, they had more shots on the net when our team was leading in overall puck possession. The momentum changed in the second period where we played better and scored in the end of the frame. Andre Petersson and Dmitrij Jaskin showed up their skills finding lonely Vadim Shipachyov in front of the net – 1:0.
On 45th minute Spartak tied the game however our coaches doubted about how legal it was. They challenged the episode and were successful. Soon Maxim Afinogenov on he breakaway used a pass from Andrei Alexeyev to extend our lead. In the end we gave them a chance with a double powerplay opportunity. Soon Patrik Hersley cut our lead with an accurate shot. Later Igor Polygalov and Dmitrij Jaskin decided the game with two empty-netters.
