Wild night in Riga

Dynamo Moscow got two points from Riga in wild fashion

During the season the first our game after the Euro Hockey Tour ended with a loss. However, before the game in Riga we had a big rest and a lot of time for preparation. So, it was hard to believe that this kind of game could happen.

It started well; Daniil Tarasov scored on 11th second of the first period. Later Lauris Darzins and Gints Meija turned the game in Dinamo Riga favor. Tarasov answered back with his second of the night. Then in 6 seconds span Dinamo made a nightmare for our goalie Ivan Bocharov scoring twice. The goal by Sergei Gimayev happened after the shot from red line. Coaches immediately replaced him with Alexander Yeryomenko.

Before the first intermission Carter Ashton set 5-2 score on the board. Knowing our team, we could only predict that it’s a good position for comeback. In the second period Andre Petersson, Dmitrij Jaskin and Yegor Zaytsev tied the game. Jaskin made it 6-5 with 9:22 to play in the third. However, with 22 seconds left to play in the third Meija tied the game. In overtime Jaskin scored his first KHL hat-trick and picked his 30th goal in regular season.

On Monday Dynamo will play in Helsinki against Jokerit, it’s crucial game that could determine at which position we will start our playoff campaign.
