Unbeatable

Dynamo Moscow defeated Spartak in the third derby of the season.

In the end of regular season our rivalry with Spartak is getting spicier. The reason is that both teams are likely to meet with each other in first round of playoffs that will start on March, 1. Our coaches made one change – defenseman Dmitry Ogurtsov replaced forward Dmitry Moiseyev.

From the first shift it was a real war on the ice with a lot of hits in every place of the ice surface. Spartak started better however one of our attacks ended with a first goal of the night. Miks Indrasis deflected the puck after Dmitrij Jaskin’s shot to make it 1-0 for Dynamo. Then we survived another penalty killing. During our power play Denis Kokarev could tie the game but in few seconds Ivan Igumnov made it 2-0.

Spartak tried to turn the game in the second frame but Dmitrij Jaskin with his beauty shot decided the game. It was 26th goal for Czech forward in this season, he tied with Matthias Weinhandl for most goals for our club in KHL regular seasons. At 36th minute of the game Vyacheslav Kulyomin redirected the puck to set the final score – 4-0. Our goalie Ivan Bocharov recorded his sixth shutout of the season.

On Monday we’ll host Lokomotiv in another big battle before the Cup round.
