Déjà vu

Dynamo Moscow controlled most part of the game but lost to CSKA in tight battle

Both teams came to contest fresh off a loss. Dynamo conceded five goals in Kazan, while CSKA lost on home ice to SKA. After this result our head coach Vladimir Krikunov decided to send to farm-club few players. Moreover, swede Andre Petersson was moved to first line to Vadim Shipachyov and Dmitrij Jaskin.

In first period team played quite accurate, Blue Whites tried to play simple and use breakaway opportunities. It led to first goal of the night, when Shipachyov and Jaskin fed up Juuso Hietanen for real chance to score. However, CSKA tied the game. Sergei Tolchinsky was first on the rebound after Alexander Romanov’s shot. It got to the net after the leg of enemy players, but officials did not find anything criminal.

Later we got the momentum and pushed a lot of pressure on Ilya Sorokin while our goalie Ivan Bocharov stayed cold. The crucial moment of the game happened in the end. Our forward Andrei Alexeyev got two minutes penalty and CSKA used this opportunity. Maxim Shalunov buried the puck from our crease. Anyway, Jaskin could turn the play into overtime.
