Dynamo Moscow defeated on the road Dinamo Riga and climbed to the second place of the West.

Despite being on different places at standings, both teams had a strong rivalry. Before upcoming matchup our team had one more win that Riga in KHL history. Riga team returned to the lineup two top goalscorers Lauris Darzins and Brandon McMillan.

Home team started more active, Dynamo got the momentum only later in the game. Nevertheless, first period ended with 0-0 score. McMillan and Darzins started the goal feast in at Arena Riga. Then Dynamo before the second intermission stroke back with two power play goals. Juuso Hietanen scored his 47th goal for Dynamo becoming the goal-scorer leader among defensemen in history of the club.

It seemed that we led the game, however Dinamo needed only the half of the period to turn it around to 3-2 for Riga. With 3:44 left to play in the third Michal Cajkovsky fired to tie the game and turned it into overtime. We survived in 3-on-4 situation during that extra minutes. Shootout? No! Vadim Shipachyov with just one second left to play buried the puck into the net. Dynamo climbed to the second spot of the West.
