Running to the third spot

Dynamo without top players defeated Traktor in overtime

For the last home game of regular season coached decided to give a rest to a big number of players including defenseman Juuso Hietanen and forwards Dmitrij Jaskin, Vadim Shipachyov and Andre Petersson.

Despite losing all playoffs chances Traktor is playing aggressively in every game of the season. They came to Moscow after two shutouts win.

Traktor used their first powerplay chance when Nick Bailen opened the scoreboard with a hard shot. In the second frame Daniil Tarasov tied the game on breakaway. Later they doubled their lead when Teemu Pulkkinen after turnover in neutral zone sent the puck into our net. However our coaches decided to challenge this episode on offside and again were right.

Pulkkinen decided to score by himself. During our powerplay his shot was hard for Fedotov to beat. Pulkkinen scored his 23rd goal of the season setting a new record for Finns in KHL regular season. The last minutes of the game happened in our zone. Andrei Popov with 1:18 left to play tied the game in powerplay.

After regular time Vladimir Bryukvin’s time came again. Two days ago he was a hero in shootout series again Spartak, now he decided to end the game in overtime.

Dynamo will play last game of regular season against Dinamo Minsk on February, 27. In case of the win Dynamo would be the third team of the West and would face against Lokomotiv in first round of playoffs.
