Cherepovets, shootout…

Big rotation did not help Dynamo to secure a win in Cherepovets

After huge loss in Helsinki our coached made many changes in our lineup, e.g. forward Daniil Apalkov was finally suited for his 500th KHL game.

Severstal lost any playoff hopes but continued to play aggressively. Adam Liska’s shot was stopped in the first minutes of the game by Alexander Yeryomenko. In few episodes our goalie assisted to our first goal blocking another shot and counter-attack led to Vladimir Bryukvin conversion.

With 2 seconds left to play in first period Vadim Kudako buried lucky rebound to tie the game. In the second frame Severstal got a lead however after challenging the episode for goalie interference officials decided that this goal is “not good”. Later Vladislav Yefremov added to his assist a first goal of the season.

In the third period our ex-forward Alexander Petunin made the game even. Severstal had a couple of chances but the game moved to the overtime that secured for us home advantage at first round of the playoffs. In the third shootout series against Severstal this season we suffered another loss.

Dynamo is heading back home where will face against Spartak Moscow on February 23 in probably tryout before the first round of 2020 Gagarin Cup.
