The first game after the break is always a pandora box. There is a question of how players will perform after playing for national teams. Dmitry Rashevsky missed the morning skate but hit the ice in the evening playing his fourth game in five days. After injuries, Oscar Lindberg, Rob Klinkhammer, and Artyom Fyodorov returned to the ice.
We need only 68 seconds to open the scoreboard. Eric O’Dell easily slid to the net and overplayed Anders Lindback. Both teams had chances to change the pace of the game. Jokerit shoot from every possible position and once Ivan Bocharov didn’t control the puck the well and it fall behind him.
At the end of the second period Mikhail Fisenko with a great solo effort and shot from zero angle restored our lead. It was a real fight in the third that ended with Vadim Shipachyov’s empty-netter. It was the 249th KHL goal for our captain. A big milestone is coming.
On Wednesday we’ll visit CSKA in another Moscow derby of the season.
